Scenes from our weekend

Because of All Saints Day, last weekend was a three day weekend which meant one extra day of lazing around with my two favorite guys. We went out for Mexican food at this awesome restaurant in the Raval neighborhood, had a Halloween picnic with some friends, and enjoyed the first chilly and crisp fall days of the season.

Here are some scenes from our weekend:

While we were walking around over the weekend, we realized that the Christmas lights had just been put up all around the city (can you see the outline of the Christmas bells hung between these two buildings?). In Miami most people deck out their lawns for Christmas but since people here don't have lawns, the city takes care of decorating for the holidays and getting us into the spirit. Nice, eh?

In case you're ever in the neighborhood of Les Corts, you must pass by the Pla├ža de la Concordia. This is an absolutely charming little plaza that has an old church, a really old pharmacy, a few bars and cafes and this beautiful building. This place is actually the town hall but it's open every day of the week and is a great place to get some coffee or a glass of beer and read the newspaper on a Sunday afternoon. It also has an enclosed terrace for the little ones to run around while you have adult conversations with your friends or spouse.

Aren't these the most adorable throw pillows you've ever seen? We spotted these at an artisan fair that takes place on the weekends in the Born neighborhood. I really couldn't resist buying one of these cushions for Roman's crib. We bought the cat cushion that you see in the middle of this picture except that the one we bought is made of a soft grey jersey material and the outline of the cat is in an electric blue color. Have you ever noticed that objects with cats on them are normally marketed to girls while things with dogs on them are marketed to boys? I never thought about this until I had a boy and I realized how near impossible it is to buy him a tshirt or a toy that has a cat on it. That's a totally tangential thought but there you are. If you'd like to buy one of these cushions, you can find them at: http://bapshis.blogspot.com.es/p/cojines.html

A picture of my little love napping that I'm sharing with you all for no special reason whatsoever. Just because he's so darn cute... said his incredibly biased mama. :)

So that's what we've been up to. What did you guys do over the weekend?

P.S. Here's what we did last weekend in case you missed it.
